Former US President Bill Clinton was hospitalized with complications from the flu virus. The 78-year-old Clinton was hospitalized in a Washington hospital after developing a fever, a Clinton spokesman said, ABC News reports.
The politician's representative said that Clinton has now completed his treatment and returned home.
"He and his family are deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided by the team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and are touched by the kind messages and good wishes he has received. He sends his warmest wishes to everyone for a happy and healthy holiday season," Clinton spokesman Angel Ureña said in a statement.
According to Ureña, Clinton is currently feeling well and is in "good spirits."
Clinton, who served as the 42nd President of the United States, has some chronic health problems. In 2004, he underwent quadruple heart bypass surgery, and in 2010, he had two stents inserted into his heart valves. In 2005, he underwent surgery for a collapsed lung.
