The lists of prisoners of war that russia handed over included people who have already been released from captivity and civilian citizens of Ukraine.
Artur Dobroserdov, the Commissioner for Persons Who Disappeared Under Special Circumstances, who heads the relevant secretariat within the structure of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, reported this on Telegram.
Thus, the Ministry of Interior Affairs has processed the list that was previously published by the Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova with the names of allegedly 630 Ukrainian prisoners of war.
"As a result of thorough processing of the above list by the employees of the Department (Secretariat of the Commissioner) of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ukraine, 16 persons were identified for whom no wanted notices were filed with the National Police of Ukraine. Despite the fact that the list was published by an official of the aggressor state, the fact of being in captivity regarding 21 persons was not officially confirmed by the International Committee of the Red Cross," he noted.
As a result of the processing of this list, the fact of illegal seizure of civilian hostages by the russians was also established. Dobroserdov also recalled that seven people had already been returned home, to Ukraine, at the time of publication of this list. According to him, accordingly, the search for these persons was terminated, and they are not prisoners of war.
Dobroserdov informed that he, in turn, based on the results of processing this list, prepared a wanted notice to the National Police of Ukraine for 16 persons for whom law enforcement agencies had no information about the fact of their disappearance.
Recall, it was previously reported that the aggressor country russia does not provide information about the whereabouts of Ukrainian prisoners.
