Russian troops launched 60 drones over the territory of Ukraine over the past day, air defense forces managed to shoot down 36 drones, another 23 UAVs did not reach their targets.
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that during the day (from 10:00 a.m. on December 23 to 9:00 a.m. on December 24) the enemy attacked the territory of Ukraine with 60 Shahed attack UAVs and drones of other types from the directions of Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - the russian federation.
"As of 10:00 a.m., it was confirmed that 36 Shahed attack UAVs and drones of other types were shot down in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Khmelnytskyi Regions. Due to the active countermeasures of the Defense Forces, 23 enemy simulator drones were lost in location (without negative consequences)," the message says.
According to data as of 10:00 a.m., one UAV remained in the air.
The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russian troops launched 72 drones over the territory of Ukraine over the past day, air defense forces managed to shoot down 57 drones, and another 56 UAVs did not reach their targets.
