A small private plane crashed in Brazil on Sunday, killing 10 people. The fact of the plane crash was confirmed by officials, ABC News reports.
According to police, the plane was piloted by Brazilian businessman Luiz Claudio Salgueiro Galeazzi. He was traveling with nine family members, including his own children. All of them were killed in the plane crash.
A photo published by the Rio Grande do Sul communications department shows the scene of the plane crash. The plane crashed in a popular shopping area in Gramado, in the southern region of the country.
At least 17 other people who were in the area of the crash were taken to hospital. Two women suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The plane took off from Canela, near Gramado, and was heading to Jundiai in the state of São Paulo. It is known that the plane flew only three kilometers, after which it began to fall.
As previously reported, a private plane crashed in Lithuania this summer. The investigation established that one of the pilots was drunk.
