As a result of the russian missile shelling of Kyiv on Friday, December 20, the embassies of 6 countries were damaged: Albania, Argentina, Palestine, North Macedonia, Portugal and Montenegro.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhii Tykhyi, announced this at a briefing, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Today, a number of embassies in Kyiv were damaged as a result of the shelling. All these embassies are located in one building, which was significantly damaged as a result of the Russian missile strike. These are the embassies of Albania, Argentina, Palestine, North Macedonia, Portugal and Montenegro. Windows, doors, and fragments of ceilings were broken in the premises," he said.
The MFA spokesman called russia's strike on diplomatic institutions a barbaric attack.
Tykhyi reported that the damaged building is on the balance of the General Directorate for Servicing Diplomatic Missions, the Ukrainian side is assessing the level of damage and is engaged in eliminating its consequences.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, none of the foreign diplomats were injured.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration, russia launched a combined missile strike on Kyiv on the morning of December 20, with a total of eight missiles fired. As a result of the russian attack on the capital, one person was killed, 12 were injured, 5 of them were hospitalized.
As a result of this attack, a monument of national importance in Kyiv, the St. Nicholas Church, was damaged.
