President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that there are no "Istanbul Agreements" between Ukraine and russia, these are senile fantasies of the leader of the aggressor country, russia, vladimir putin.
Zelenskyy said this during a press conference in Brussels (Belgium), answering the question of whether Ukraine is ready for negotiations with russia on the basis of the so-called "Istanbul Agreements", the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Ukraine did not sign anything, there were no agreements, it was a response to the ultimatum of the Russian Federation," he stressed.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine did not agree to russia's ultimatum in 2022 regarding Ukraine's surrender, then the russians tried to soften their positions on the ultimatum and there were meetings in Belarus and Türkiye.
"The ultimatum included, and they always talk about it, "demilitarization", "denazification"... The main Nazi on the planet today - Putin - is talking about the denazification of Ukrainians... Demilitarization... so that the army in Ukraine does not exist... He simply offered Ukraine to surrender, freeze the conflict, change the direction of development - neither Europe nor NATO, but the direction - to the Russian Federation, so that they rule our state, deprive us of independence. And this person says that these are some kind of agreements... Just an old dreamer. He lives in another world, in his own aquarium," Zelenskyy said.
During the program "Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin" on December 19, putin stated that russia is ready for "negotiations and compromises" with Ukraine on the basis of the agreements reached in Istanbul in 2022 and complained that Ukraine is refusing the agreements.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy also reacted to putin's words about an "experimental" strike on Kyiv with a new Oreshnik ballistic missile, noting that Ukraine is dealing with inadequate people, scumbags.
