Rada postpones transition to Euro-6 environmental standards for cars until 2027

The Verkhovna Rada postponed the introduction of the requirement for compliance with Euro-6 environmental standards for buses and trucks, as well as new passenger cars, until 2027.

A total of 335 MPs voted for bill No. 12067, with a minimum required 226.

This was reported on his Telegram channel by Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Holos faction, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Before the law is adopted on January 1, 2025, new and used tractors, buses, trucks, special equipment, as well as new passenger cars that are submitted for first registration in Ukraine must comply with Euro-6 standards.

The adopted decision provides for the postponement of the implementation of the requirement to comply with Euro-6 environmental standards for buses, trucks and special vehicles, both for new and used ones, until 2027. Euro-6 is a part of European legislation, according to which the level of harmful emissions of cars is regulated. This standard allows making vehicles more environmentally friendly.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada extended tax and customs benefits for drones and their components for the next year.
