Ukraine calls Hungary's statements on truce "immoral"

Ukraine has called on the Hungarian side to stop "immoral manipulations" on the topic of peace and Christmas.

This was stated in a comment by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Monday, December 16.

The Foreign Ministry stressed that the Hungarian statements on the ability to stop russian aggression do not correspond to reality, since it is after the so-called "peacemaking" calls to the russian federation that missiles and drones are flying over Ukraine. Hungary is trying to leave Ukraine without weapons and funding, for which it is preventing the imposition of sanctions against the aggressor, the department emphasized.

"We call on the Hungarian side to stop immoral manipulations on the topic of peace and Christmas, to refrain from unilateral contacts with the aggressor state, which undermine joint efforts to restore a just peace," the statement said.

Ukraine seeks peace on its soil, for which it will continue contacts with partners, the Foreign Ministry noted.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 11, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the call of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to the leader of the aggressor country, russia, vladimir putin, regarding peace negotiations.

On December 12, Advisor to the President of Ukraine Dmytro Lytvyn stated that Ukraine did not authorize Hungary to represent its interests.
