In Kurakhove, Donetsk Region, the russian occupation army is using its sabotage and reconnaissance groups under the guise of civilians.
The Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group has reported this.
According to the military, the russians intend to seize Kurakhove. To this end, they are conducting active assault operations on the positions of the Armed Forces on the southeastern outskirts of the city.
The enemy is also actively trying to occupy a road junction and multi-storey buildings located nearby.
The Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group noted that in order to achieve these goals, the enemy is using sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
"Cases of the use of sabotage and reconnaissance groups under the guise of civilians have been recorded. In order to prevent such actions by the enemy, the Defense Forces are conducting counter-sabotage measures," the message says.
According to the report of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group, from 10:26 p.m., since the beginning of the day, 31 attacks by russian troops have been recorded on the Kurakhove axis. The Ukrainian military has repelled 23 attacks, and 8 more combat clashes are ongoing.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 12, analysts of the Ukrainian project DeepState stated that south of Kurakhove, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine allegedly found themselves in a de facto encirclement.
The next day, December 13, the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group denied DeepState's statement. The military reported that fighting is ongoing south of the city, in particular to prevent encirclement.
