In the first two weeks of December 2024, a series of sabotages on the railway took place in russia – the railway track was blown up and 5 locomotives were burned.
The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has reported this.
In particular, on December 14, 2024, an explosion occurred on a railway bridge in the russian regional center of Ulyanovsk, which destroyed the railway track.
The explosion occurred in the railway district of Ulyanovsk, on a line near the Sviyaga River, a few kilometers from the local locomotive depot and the Ulyanovsk Motor Plant.
Although such a sabotage will not be able to stop the use of the railway branch, it will complicate the work of the local railway depot. The city of Ulyanovsk is home to several important enterprises of the russian defense-industrial complex.
In particular, the Ulyanovsk Cartridge Plant which produces ammunition for small arms, and the Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant which produces the Buk-M3 air defense system.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, according to the ATESH partisan movement, servicemen of the 61st Marine Brigade of the russian Army drowned in the Dnieper as a result of an unsuccessful attempt to cross the river and land on one of the islands in the Kherson Region.
Earlier, the ATESH partisan movement carried out sabotage on the railway on the administrative border of the Kherson Region and Crimea, disrupting the military logistics of the occupiers in the Novooleksiivka-Melitopol section.
