Two russian cargo ships sank in the Kerch Strait area off the coast of Crimea annexed by the russian federation.
This is reported by the russian Interfax agency.
Off the coast of Kerch in the Black Sea, waves broke in half first the Russian tanker Volgoneft-212, and then another: Volgoneft-239. On each side are approximately 15 crew members, who have been waiting for rescue for 4 hours.
"This morning, a message was received that eight kilometers before the Kerch Strait, the Volgoneft 212 ship with fuel oil registered in the port of St. Petersburg is in trouble," propagandists claim.
It is known that 13 crew members are on board one ship, 14 on board the other. A helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of the russian federation flew to the scene of the incident.
They also noted that one of the tankers is eight kilometers from the coast. There is 4,000 tons of fuel oil on board the tanker. A huge black spot has formed in the sea.
Later, the russians said that another tanker, Volgoneft 239, began to sink. There is no information about what cargo is on the other ship yet. The incident was previously attributed to a storm.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine identified at least 238 vessels from the russian oil "shadow fleet".
