Suspect in terrorist attack near territorial recruitment and social support center building in Dnipro detained

Law enforcement officers have "hot on the trail" detained a man who detonated an improvised explosive device in Dnipro on Saturday, December 14.

This is stated in the SSU report.

"SSU and National Police officers detained a man involved in the placement and detonation of an improvised explosive device near the building of territorial recruitment and social support center in Dnipro," it says.

During the investigative and search measures, law enforcement officers established that a previously convicted 37-year-old resident of the Dnipropetrovsk Region was involved in the terrorist attack.

The attacker was taken to the police station. The detainee's place of residence is being searched, and all necessary investigative actions are being carried out.

"The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the attacker and declaring him a suspect under Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act) is being resolved," the SSU added.

The SSU also recalled that as a result of an explosion in one of the central districts of Dnipro, a person was killed, there are also injured, among them two police officers. They have been taken to the hospital, and doctors are currently fighting for their lives.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, all the circumstances and persons involved in this crime are being established.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the explosion in Dnipro, which occurred on Saturday, December 14, was a terrorist act, as a result of which a military man was killed.
