Ukraine did not authorize Hungary to represent its interests and did not discuss anything with this country.
The advisor to the President of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Dmytro Lytvyn, stated this in response to the words of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán regarding the proposal for a Christmas truce.
Lytvyn was asked on X (formerly Twitter) to comment on Orbán’s statement that the President of Ukraine allegedly rejected the proposals for a Christmas truce. The presidential advisor stated that Hungary did not discuss anything with Ukraine and did not report on its contacts with moscow.
"As always, Ukraine did not authorize Hungary to represent it in any way. As before, Ukraine is working every day to release prisoners, and over the past two weeks, active contacts have been ongoing with the aim of holding a large-scale exchange by the end of the year. As before, we are committed to achieving real and lasting peace and are doing everything to do this in coordination with our partners - together with the United States, Europe and other partners," Lytvyn stressed.
The presidential adviser stressed that Ukraine needs real peace and reliable security guarantees, "not PR campaigns" and "not empty talk."

Recall that on December 11, Orbán wrote that Hungary had proposed a Christmas truce and a large-scale exchange of prisoners, but, according to him, Zelenskyy rejected this proposal.
