SSU exposes enemy agent who spied on AFU artillery positions near Sloviansk

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has detained another agent of the russian military intelligence (GRU) in the Donetsk Region who spied on the deployment points and movements of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in order to target enemy strikes on them.

The Security Service of Ukraine and the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this on Telegram, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

According to the investigation, the suspect turned out to be a 39-year-old local unemployed man who was recruited by the russian special service through social networks.

His main task was to find out the positions of the barrel artillery and rocket artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which keeps under fire control the assault groups of the invaders trying to break through on the Sloviansk axis.

The enemy was also interested in the coordinates of Ukrainian checkpoints on key highways in the region.

To collect intelligence, the agent traveled around the area, where he covertly recorded the locations of Ukrainian defenders, and then "reported" to the occupiers.

After enemy shelling, the agent was to conduct additional reconnaissance in the areas of possible "hits" and adjust repeated attacks in the region.

SSU officers exposed the traitor and detained him while attempting to transfer intelligence.

Security Service investigators informed the person of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

The perpetrator is in custody, facing life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a 60-year-old former security guard of commercial facilities in Kharkiv who volunteered to become a corrector for russian special services.

Informants for the russian federation who tried to "interrupt" the logistics of the Defense Forces were detained in the Dnipropetrovsk Region.
