"I apologize again, I apologize to those whose lives I took. I am very sorry that this happened. Would I return the past, if it were possible, would I change something - yes, 100%. But I cannot do this. I am very sorry that I found myself in such a situation," Riabchuk said during the meeting.

What happened at Pivdenmash

On January 27, 2022, a National Guard serviceman shot a guard of servicemen with a Kalashnikov assault rifle during the issuance of weapons, after which he fled with the weapon. This happened in the premise where the weapons room is located.

As the investigation established, after being called up for military service, the accused encountered unconstitutional relations from his senior conscript colleagues.

Several times he witnessed conflicts and quarrels, which he reported to the leadership. Because of this, other servicemen developed a negative attitude towards him.

A few hours before the tragedy, while on combat duty, the soldier was supposed to rest, but he received an order to sort out the documentation in the guardhouse.

This order from the senior conscript Riabchuk was perceived as mockery, after which he decided to take revenge for all the previous insults.

On April 23, 2023, the Krasnohvardiiskyi District Court of the city of Dnipro sentenced Riabchuk to life imprisonment.
