The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has sent banks an explanation about the inappropriateness of excessive requirements for the disclosure of bank data during the implementation of the state programs Winter eSupport and National Cashback.
This is stated in the ministry's message, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
To accrue 10% cashback to a user for the purchase of Ukrainian goods under the National Cashback program, the Government requires data exclusively on transactions related to the purchase or return of the relevant goods.
These are goods participating in the program, purchased in retail establishments participating in the program.
Permission to transfer transaction data for these purchases is provided by the program participant if he is interested in participating in it.
Information about the specified payment transactions is the basis for accruing cashback for specific purchases.
The Government does not require or request data on other transactions from banks to implement the National Cashback program.
The Ministry of Economy emphasizes in a letter to banks that the requirements from banks for consent to the disclosure of other data are inappropriate.
Funds under the Winter eSupport program are credited to the National Cashback card.
A citizen can open such a card in the application or at a branch of one of the program's partner banks.
If a citizen is not interested in participating in the National Cashback program and plans to use this card only to receive funds under the Winter eSupport program, banks should not require consent to the disclosure of information on transactions from personal accounts or other personal data that are not directly related to the payment.
Citizens can close the National Cashback bank card or revoke the granted permission at any time.
To do this, you need to contact the bank's support.
In its letter, the Ministry of Economy appeals to banks to bring their contracts with clients and other documents into line with the provided explanations.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the day before, MP Volodymyr Ariev said that providing "a thousand from Zelenskyy" would allow the state to obtain information about the movement of funds in Ukrainians' accounts.
Recall, earlier, Ukrainians were told how to apply for a thousand hryvnias using the Diia program.
