Interior Minister Klymenko tells how many policemen are at frontline

Units of the National Guard, border guards and the National Police are constantly on the frontline. They are engaged in evacuation. Also, some units have been directly in the ranks of the Defense Forces for several months.

This was stated by the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, in an interview with the RBC-Ukraine publication.

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, we are talking about special units, the Liut brigade, and consolidated units fighting together with the National Guard.

"These are thousands of police officers - 10% of all law enforcement officers. About 10,000 police officers are combatants on the frontline," Klymenko said.

At the same time, he noted that 25,000 law enforcement officers are constantly in the combat zone. They are engaged in evacuating people and working at checkpoints.

"A wide range of work outside of police activities. 40,000-45,000 are constantly in the combat zone and front-line regions. And we are talking about the border areas, where the State Border Guard Service and police units are located," the minister said.

Klymenko also emphasized that in the National Police, out of 100,000, 25% are women, and another 17% are people who have not reached mobilization age.

"Now you can easily count the 45,000 that I was talking about, 25,000 are women and 17% are those who have not reached mobilization age. That is, almost all the forces of the National Police are involved. More than half of the National Guard are involved in carrying out combat missions and half of the State Border Guard Service is involved," Klymenko emphasized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Klymenko previously stated that there is not a single employee of the National Police in "epaulets" with a disability.
