I'm actively trying to end war in Ukraine. If I can – Trump

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said he is "actively trying" to end the war in Ukraine if he can, NBC News reported on Sunday, December 8.

Trump said that perhaps after his return to the White House, Ukraine should not expect as much military aid as it was during the presidency of Joe Biden.

"Trump said he is actively trying to end the war "if I can," the publication quotes the U.S. President-elect as saying.

Besides, the politician added that he does not support U.S. membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which since World War II has been a bulwark against the aggressor country russia: "If they pay their bills, absolutely,” he would preserve America’s role in the alliance," the publication quoted Trump.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 8, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said that Ukraine had lost 400,000 soldiers in the war with the aggressor country russia.

In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had lost 43,000 soldiers since the start of the full-scale war.

Recall, on November 15, Zelenskyy said that under Trump, the war in Ukraine would end faster.
