"We emphasize that the IDF is not interfering with the internal events in Syria. The IDF will continue to operate as long as necessary in order to preserve the buffer zone and defend Israel and its civilians," the IDF said.

On November 27, 2024, Syrian opposition groups led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) launched a large-scale offensive in the Aleppo province in northwestern Syria.

Within a few days, opposition groups established control over a dozen settlements. Later, they captured Aleppo, one of the largest cities in the country.

Opposition groups continue their offensive in the south. The day before, it became known that the city of Hama had come under their control, after which they continued their movement in the south.
