At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the head of the DPR group, Denys Pushylin, organized the forced mobilization of men in the occupied Donetsk Region on orders from Moscow. He will be tried for this.
This was reported by the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office.
On February 19, 2022, Pushylin announced a general mobilization in the occupied part of the Donetsk Region, signing a corresponding "decree". And in order to take more people, he changed the age limit for conscripts from 55 to 65 years.
Subsequently, members of illegal armed formations within the russian army began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The prosecutor's office says that men who refuse to mobilize are threatened with criminal liability.
All these actions are a gross violation of the requirements of Articles 4, 8, 51, 147 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War of August 12, 1949, as well as Article 23 of the Hague Convention on the Laws and Customs of War on Land of October 18, 1907.
Prosecutors have sent another lawsuit to the court against the leader of the militants in the occupied part of the Donetsk Region, Denys Pushylin. This time, for violating the laws and customs of war by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2023, the leader of the illegal group DPR Denys Pushylin was sentenced in absentia to 15 years behind bars.
