Chancellor Olaf Scholz believes that unemployed Ukrainians in Germany should be encouraged to find work or return to their homeland.
This is reported by ntv.
"Many of them have been here, so to speak, for too long, and they should start working now," Scholz said during government hearings in the Bundestag.
According to him, the previous successes of the government's "Turbo Employment" program were not enough.
Scholz said that he had spoken "very thoroughly" on this topic with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"He told me that he wants to create a Ukrainian institution in Germany and Poland that would support Ukrainians in returning or finding work in Germany, so that we can work together in this direction," the politician said.
Recall that, according to a survey, almost 25% of Ukrainian refugees in Europe do not plan to return to Ukraine in the long term.
In addition, Canada is launching a government advertisement in 11 languages, including Ukrainian, to assure potential migrants that it is difficult to obtain asylum in the country.
