The russian occupation army is probably preparing to carry out major offensive operations in the Kherson Region. Recently, they have prepared boats and other equipment necessary for crossing the Dnieper River.
This was stated by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, in an interview with the British newspaper Financial Times.
According to him, the russian troops want to launch another offensive in the Kherson Region. To do this, they have prepared 300 boats for crossing the river.
According to the spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, Serhii Bratchuk, the russians are now trying to establish control over the islands. Their capture will allow the occupiers to advance closer to Kherson.
He also said that the day before, russian troops launched a major attack on the Kozatskyi Island.
We will remind, earlier today, on December 4, the spokesman for the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn, said that the russians are trying to gain a foothold in the island zone near Kherson.
And on December 2, the RBC-Ukraine agency wrote, citing its own sources, that the command of the occupiers is considering the possibility of crossing the Dnieper River in order to attack Kherson.
Kherson came under russian occupation in early March 2022. The city was liberated as a result of a counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Ukrainian military personnel entered the city on November 11, 2022.
At the same time, in the fall of 2022, the occupiers announced the "accession" of the entire Kherson Region to the aggressor country of russia. This was done after an illegal "referendum" held in the occupied territories.
