Russian dictator vladimir putin has approved a budget that increases military spending for 2025 to a record level.
It was reported by the Associated Press.
The publication writes that about 32.5% of the russian budget is allocated for national defense, which in monetary terms is RUB 13.5 trillion (over USD 145 billion). This year, the aggressor country allocated 28.3% for defense.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin approved budget plans, increasing military spending for 2025 to a record level, as Moscow seeks to win the war in Ukraine. Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine since February 2022 is the largest conflict in Europe since World War II and is draining the resources of both sides," the report says.
Lawmakers in both chambers of the russian parliament, the State Duma and the Federation Council, have already approved these plans over the past 10 days.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 2, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that he had sent a message to russian dictator vladimir putin during his visit to Kyiv.
On November 15, Scholz had a phone conversation with putin, the first direct communication between Scholz and putin in almost two years.
Zelenskyy criticized Scholz’s call to putin, calling it a Pandora’s box and a weakening of the russian dictator’s isolation.
