Today, December 2, the solemn opening of the movement of freight vehicles took place at the Luzhanka - Beregsurány border checkpoint, located on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. Within the framework of the bilateral agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Hungary, the first truck was registered and sent.
It was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
According to the terms of the agreement, the movement of trucks with a maximum permissible weight of up to 7.5 tons, as well as empty large-sized vehicles that can be moved without weight restrictions, is allowed through this checkpoint.
Besides, the agreement provides for:
- Opening of the new checkpoint Velyka Palad - Nagyhódos for automobile and passenger traffic, except for buses.
- Modernization of the checkpoint Dzvinkove - Lonja to ensure the movement of freight vehicles.
- Expansion of the throughput capacity of the Chop - Záhony checkpoint through the construction of a new bridge across the Tisza River.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the checkpoint on the border with Romania will partially suspend operations due to bridge repairs.
