Zelenskyy admitted that Ukraine does not have strength to return occupied territories

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy admitted that Ukraine does not have enough strength to return all the territories occupied by the aggressor country of russia by military means. For this, diplomatic solutions should be sought.

The head of state said this in an interview with the Japanese agency Kyodo News.

"Our army does not have enough strength for this. This is true. We must find diplomatic solutions," Zelenskyy said.

He stressed that any diplomatic steps can be considered only after Ukraine knows that it is strong enough to prevent russia from repeating full-scale military aggression.

Zelenskyy also said that support for Ukraine from its partners is insufficient. He called on NATO to invite Kyiv to negotiations on membership in the alliance as soon as possible.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the day before, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, stated in an article for the Dagens Industri publication that returning the situation to the state of February 23, 2022, could be the beginning of negotiations between Ukraine and russia.

We will remind, in mid-November, the American newspaper The Washington Post wrote that European leaders are increasingly discussing the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war with a scenario that involves Kyiv giving up some territories.

We also wrote that two-thirds of Ukrainians want to start negotiations on a ceasefire, and more than half do not believe that victory in the war should be reaching the 1991 borders.
