President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that Ukraine requested to equip 10 military brigades to counter russian aggression, but the West fully equipped only two and a half brigades.
Zelenskyy said this in an interview with the British TV channel Sky News.
According to the President, Ukraine's problem lies precisely in equipping military personnel with weapons and equipment, and not in the number of available troops.
"They (partners - ed.) talk about mobilization, but the real problem is with the 10 brigades that our partners have not equipped, I have been asking them for more than a year that we need to equip these brigades. We made this decision with the United States and with European allies, and today Europe and the United States have fully equipped two and a half brigades," the Head of State noted.
Among the reasons why this happened, Zelenskyy spoke about "some bureaucracy, some decisions, some do not consider this a priority," and added that "it's always like this in this war."
"Someone asked me about mobilization, and I don't want to claim that this is the position of some leaders in Europe. They said that we need young people, etc. And I answered: do you want someone to go to their death without a weapon?" Zelenskyy emphasized.
The President emphasized that decisions on the number of military personnel in Ukraine are made taking into account the need to save as many lives as possible.
"And if European or American officials have an idea about the age of mobilization, I want to ask our partners to do their thing, and we will do ours," Zelenskyy summed up.
