German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has told President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the details of his call to russian dictator vladimir putin.
Zelenskyy reported this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The German Chancellor told the details of his call to Putin. It is obvious that only the force of arms and the force of diplomacy together can force the perpetrator of the war to make peace, and that peace is possible only through force," he said.
Zelenskyy also said that in a telephone conversation he thanked Scholz for his leadership in helping Ukraine with air defense systems - the very effective Patriots and IRIS-T, which have already saved thousands of lives.
He also expressed gratitude to the Chancellor for his readiness to continue to support Ukraine, in particular its defense against russian aggression.
Zelenskyy and Scholz discussed what bilateral steps they and their partners can take to strengthen Ukraine.
"It is important that the pressure on Russia increases and that Ukrainian positions strengthen, because this is what will force Russia to make real peace," Zelenskyy stressed.
According to the President's Office, Zelenskyy and Scholz also discussed the possibility of meeting both bilaterally and with other European leaders to coordinate joint actions.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 15, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had a telephone conversation with russian dictator vladimir putin, this conversation was the first direct communication between Scholz and putin in almost two years.
Zelenskyy criticized Scholz's call to putin, calling it a Pandora's box and a weakening of the russian dictator's isolation. At the same time, Zelenskyy stressed that there will be no "Minsk-3", Ukraine needs real peace.
