Budanov strikes Kaluga as response to putin's Oreshnik — Holobutskyi

The drone strike on the oil depot in Kaluga, russia, is a response by the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, to the use of the Oreshnik missile by russian dictator vladimir putin.

Political expert and blogger Oleksii Holobutskyi has expressed this opinion.

“Budanov responded to putin's "Oreshnik" with a strike on Kaluga. Last night in the russian federation was marked by the Defense Intelligence. Kaluga was added to the list of attacked regions. The object of interest of Ukrainian intelligence this time was the oil depot of JSC Kaluganefteprodukt," Holobutskyi noted.

He recalled that at approximately 1 a.m. local time, a swarm of kamikaze drones struck production equipment and a storage facility for oil products. A series of explosions were recorded, after which a large-scale fire broke out.

“Even in not very high-quality private videos, you can see that the scale of the destruction is quite serious. If you add a fire, you can hardly expect a quick restoration of this base. It is important to note that the Kaluga oil depot is one of the logistics hubs for providing support to the Russian group in Ukraine. Therefore, it is unlikely that anyone will deny the legitimacy of this goal for our drones,” the expert emphasized.

In his opinion, as a result of this operation, we have another confirmation of the effectiveness of Kyrylo Budanov’s program for the development of unmanned systems.

“You can wait for Western missiles and permission to use them for as long as you like. But it turned out that it is possible to effectively strike targets deep inside Russia today. Of particular interest are the videos posted on the Internet by Russian eyewitnesses to these strikes. In some of the videos, people laugh and openly rejoice at what they saw. I hope they will have plenty of similar reasons for joy. And in the near future,” stated Oleksii Holobutskyi.
