Lithuania allocates EUR 10 million for Ukrainian long-range weapons

Lithuania will finance the production of Ukrainian long-range weapons. The Baltic country has agreed on the first tranche of EUR 10 million.

This was reported by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov in his post on Telegram.

Umerov signed a memorandum with the Minister of Defense of Lithuania Laurynas Kasčiūnas in Vilnius. Lithuania will finance the production of Ukrainian long-range drones.

"The memorandum of understanding on the creation of a mechanism to support the security and defense forces of Ukraine through contributions to the Ukrainian defense industry opens up new opportunities for Lithuanian investments in our defense industry and contributes to the expansion of the strategic partnership between our countries," Umerov noted.

According to the minister, this is a long-term agreement, within the framework of which the first tranche of EUR 10 million has already been agreed. Lithuania is allocating these funds to the production of Ukrainian long-range weapons, in particular the Palianytsia project.

The Minister of Defense added that the Lithuanian side is already working on finalizing bureaucratic procedures for financing.

The ministers also discussed key priorities for 2025 at the meeting: training and equipping Ukrainian brigades, providing ammunition and air defense equipment, and developing cooperation in the defense industry.
