Power engineers have restored one of the power lines of the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP. The plant has been on the verge of a blackout since November 21.
The Ministry of Energy reported this on Telegram.
Thus, power engineers have restored the operation of the high-voltage overhead line connecting the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP with the unified power system of Ukraine, which was damaged due to enemy shelling.
"During this week, the Zaporizhzhia NPP was twice on the verge of a blackout due to constant enemy shelling. Currently, the operation of one of the power lines of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, which was damaged as a result of shelling, has been restored. The plant is again able to receive electricity from two power lines," said Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
At the same time, according to him, the situation at the plant remains threatening.
"I emphasize once again that only the return of control over the nuclear power plant to Ukraine can guarantee the safe operation of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe," the minister noted.
