The National Commission for the State Regulation of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum and the Provision of Postal Services (NCEC) sold licenses for the use of the radio frequency spectrum to mobile operators Kyivstar, VF Ukraine and Lifecell at an auction for a total of UAH 2,894,733,500.
This was stated in the company's statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"On November 19, 2024, bidding took place in Kyiv as part of the Frequency Auction.
The bidders - mobile operators Kyivstar, VF Ukraine and Lifecell - received additional resources and declared their readiness to use them effectively for 15 years, providing services to their subscribers," the statement says.
The report further states that Kyivstar PrJSC won the tender "by voice" for obtaining licenses to use the radio frequency spectrum in the radio frequency bands 1940-1945/2130-2135 MHz and 2355-2395 MHz for a total amount of UAH 1,444 million;
VF Ukraine PrJSC won the tender "by voice" for obtaining licenses to use the radio frequency spectrum in the radio frequency bands 1945-1950/2135-2140 MHz; 2575-2610 MHz for a total amount of UAH 988 million;
Lifecell LLC won the tender "by voice" for obtaining licenses to use the radio frequency spectrum in the radio frequency bands 1935-1940/2125-2130 MHz for a total amount of UAH 463 million.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Kyivstar is part of the Ukrainian business unit of the international communications operator Veon (formerly VimpelCom).
Lifecell LLC is part of the DVL platform group of companies, which unites the electronic communications brands DATAGROUP, Volia and lifecell and related companies.
In September 2024, NJJ Holding, led by French investor Xavier Niel, completed the acquisition of these companies.
Vodafone Ukraine has been part of NEQSOL Holding since December 2019.
