The state budget for 2025 adopted by the Verkhovna Rada provides for an increase in funding for national security and defense to UAH 2.23 trillion or 26.3% of GDP.
This was announced by the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"In 2025, 26.3% of the country's GDP will be directed to security and defense, as this is a key priority: expenditures will increase to UAH 2.23 trillion, which is UAH 47.6 billion more than the revised plan for 2024. This increase will allow strengthening the country's defense capability," the report says.
In particular, UAH 1.16 trillion are provided for military salaries, which is UAH 10 billion more than last year.
In addition, spending on weapons and military equipment is increasing - UAH 739 billion are provided for this, which is UAH 34.1 billion more than in the previous year.
Funding for the Ministry of Strategic Industry, which is engaged in the modernization of the defense-industrial complex, will increase to UAH 55.1 billion, which is UAH 15.3 billion more than in 2024.
An increase in funding for the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is also planned - UAH 46.9 billion will be allocated in 2025, which is UAH 3.6 billion more than in 2024.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 19, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the state budget of Ukraine for 2025.
