Seaports up cargo processing by 60% to 8 million tons in October

In October 2024, compared to October 2023, Ukrainian seaports increased cargo processing by 60% to 8 million tons.

This is stated in a message from the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The message states that the basis of cargo flow is traditionally formed by agricultural products and ore.

Thus, the volume of grain cargo transshipment in October amounted to 5 million tons, exceeding last year's figure by 1.5 million tons, and ore cargo - 1.4 million tons, which is more than twice the result of October 2023.

In January-October 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, Ukrainian ports almost doubled cargo processing to 82.3 million tons (January-October 2023 - 46.1 million tons).

“A significant role in ensuring export operations is played by the “Ukrainian Corridor”, through which 6.8 million tons of cargo passed in October.

Of these, 4.5 million tons are grains, which emphasizes the importance of Ukraine in maintaining global food security,” the report said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in September 2024, compared to September 2023, Ukrainian seaports increased cargo processing 2 times to 7 million tons.
