Ukraine plans to strike first blows deep into russian territory in coming days - Reuters

Ukraine plans to carry out its first long-range missile attacks on the territory of the aggressor state of russia over a long distance in the coming days.

The Reuters agency reported this on Sunday, November 17, citing its own sources.

The publication writes that knowledgeable sources did not reveal the details of possible strikes on russian territory for "operational security" reasons, but indicated that Ukraine will launch them in the near future.

"The first deep strikes are likely to be carried out using ATACMS rockets, which have a range of up to 190 miles (306 km), according to the sources. While some US officials have expressed scepticism that allowing long-range strikes will change the war’s overall trajectory, the decision could help Ukraine at a moment when Russian forces are making gains and possibly put Kyiv in a better negotiating position when and if ceasefire talks happen," the article says.

The White House refused to comment on information regarding the authorization of long-range U.S. strikes deep into russian territory.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 17, the American newspaper The New York Times stated that U.S. President Joseph Biden allowed the Ukrainian military to use long-range missiles to strike the territory of the aggressor country of russia.
