Le Figaro removes information about permission of Britain and France to hit russia with SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles

The French publication Le Figaro has removed from the publication the information that France and the United Kingdom allowed Ukraine to strike deep into russia with SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles.

This is evidenced by the edited article, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

On the evening of November 17, Le Figaro reported that, following the U.S., France and the UK granted Ukraine permission to use SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles for strikes deep into the territory of the russian federation.

"The French and the British allowed Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with their SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles," the statement read.

The publication noted that after several months of persistent requests, U.S. President Joe Biden gave the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy consent to the use of American ATACMS missiles with a range of 300 km on the territory of russia.

It was after such a decision that France and the UK gave their consent to attacks deep into the territory of the aggressor country, Le Figaro reported.

However, already on Monday morning, the newspaper edited the publication, removing from it information about the permission of France and Britain to hit russia with their missiles.

Currently, the article is only about the U.S. decision.

"There was already a discussion in the offices regarding the permission to use Western missiles against Russian territory. Emmanuel Macron spoke in favor of this during a state visit to Germany in May 2024," the edited article says.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 17, the American newspaper The New York Times stated that U.S. President Joe Biden allowed the Armed Forces of Ukraine to use long-range missiles to strike the territory of the aggressor country, russia.
