As a result of another russian attack, the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP was again on the verge of blackout.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.
According to the department, one of the two power lines of the station was de-energized due to enemy shelling. It is noted that currently the NPP is connected to the Ukrainian power system by only one power transmission line.
The Ministry of Energy said that in the event of disconnection of the last line at the Zaporizhzhia station, another complete blackout will occur. The consequences are a "severe violation" of the conditions of safe operation and threaten the development of an accident.
According to the Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, specialists have already started work on restoring the power line of the NPP. Such actions of the aggressor country pose a threat to the radiation safety of the entire region, he emphasized. Only the return of control over the Zaporizhzhia NPP to Ukraine can guarantee its safe operation.
