Department of State updates recommendations for Americans regarding travel to Ukraine

The US Department of State has lowered the level of risk for Americans to travel to nine Ukrainian regions.

This was reported by the Department of State on Thursday, November 15.

It is noted that some Ukrainian regions may have a lower level of risk due to air defense and remoteness from active combat zones.

In particular, from the fourth (do not travel) to the third level (consider your trip), the Department of State reduced the risk for the following regions of Ukraine: Volyn, Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi and Zhytomyr.

All U.S. citizens should closely monitor U.S. government communications, local and international media for information on changes in security conditions and shelter-in-place warnings.

"The security situation in Ukraine remains unpredictable. Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine continues, and even non-frontline regions remain targets of russian missile and drone attacks," the Department of State warned.
