According to operational data, the volume of funds placed by individuals in bank accounts in hryvnia and foreign currency increased by 0.6% in October to a record-breaking UAH 1,174.386 billion.
This is evidenced by the data of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of deposits of the population in banks has increased by 8.9% from UAH 1,078.346 billion.
Household hryvnia deposits in banks in October increased by 0.3% to UAH 767.620 billion.
At the same time, the amount of foreign currency deposits of the population in the hryvnia equivalent increased by 1.4% to UAH 406.766 billion in the reporting month.
Deposits of legal entities (hryvnia and currency) in October increased by 2.1% to UAH 1,378.878 billion.
The average interest rate on hryvnia deposits (monthly average) in the reporting month for legal entities increased by 0.1 percentage points to 8.7%, for individuals - by 0.1 percentage points to 10.5%.
The interest rate on currency deposits for legal entities was 0.9%, for the population - 1%.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2023, the volume of deposits of the population in banks increased by 16.5% from UAH 926.488 billion.
In 2022, population deposits in banks increased by 29.3% from UAH 719.418 billion.
In 2021, population deposits in banks increased by 6.8% from UAH 674.718 billion to UAH 720.932 billion.
