Russia increased number of UAV attacks on Ukraine by 44% after election of Trump - ABC News

The aggressor state of russia has increased the intensity of its drone attacks on Ukrainian cities by about 44% in the week since President-elect Donald Trump won the election.

This is evidenced by the analysis of ABC News.

"Trump's election victory, confirmed in the early morning hours of November 6, coincided with Moscow's increased use of Iranian-made Shahed attack drones to bomb Ukrainian targets across the country," the report said.

Specifically, in the week since Trump's victory, russia has launched 641 strike drones into Ukraine, according to daily data released by the Ukrainian Air Force - an average of more than 91 UAVs per day.

At the same time, the day before, the Ukrainian Air Force recorded 2,286 launches into its territory in the period from October 1 to November 5, which is an average of less than 64 UAVs per day.

It is reported that the daily number of russian drones exceeded 100 on three of the seven days following the US presidential election, while in the five weeks prior, this threshold was reached only five times. The record figure of 145 drones was set on November 10.

Also, the Air Force of Ukraine reported 88 missiles fired over the country between October 1 and November 5, and 12 in the week after the election. This means that, on average, a little more than 2 russian missiles were launched per day in the period before the election and a little less than 2 after it.

The publication noted that the number of Ukrainian drone attacks has remained stable since the beginning of October, according to data published in real time by the russian Ministry of Defense on its Telegram channels.

Moscow reported that 1,277 drones were shot down between October 1 and November 5 - an average of just over 35 UAVs per day. In the week since the election, russian air defenses have shot down 243 drones, according to the ministry, an average of just under 35 UAVs per day.

It stressed that ABC News could not independently verify the figures provided by the two defense ministries. Publicly available data does not include short-range drones or reconnaissance drones used in front-line areas. Both russia and Ukraine may have reasons to inflate the numbers, and the conditions of the war mean details may be difficult to confirm.

"Nevertheless, the general trend is that drones are becoming increasingly large-scale and regular," the publication summarized.

In addition, the increase in the number of russian long-range strikes is paralleled by an increase in the intensity of ground attacks: heavy fighting continues in eastern Ukraine, in the western Kursk Oblast of russia, and as the Ukrainian command prepares for an expected offensive in the southern Zaporizhzhia Region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of Thursday, November 14, the army of the aggressor country of the russian federation attacked Ukraine with 59 attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Shahed type and drones of an unknown type. As of this morning, anti-aircraft defense managed to shoot down 21 UAVs.
