To date, a significant outflow of Ukrainians to the territories temporarily occupied by the russians (TOT) has been recorded. This was discussed at the meeting of the section of the Association of Cities of Ukraine (ACU) on the development of de-occupied and temporarily occupied communities.
In particular, the mayor of Mariupol, Donetsk Region, Vadym Boichenko, said that the outflow of Ukrainians to the TOT is due to hostile propaganda, as well as lack of housing.
"Now we record a significant outflow of Ukrainians to the temporarily occupied territories. This is mainly due to Russian propaganda and the lack of their own housing. People have nowhere to live and cannot restore the conditions they had before the start of the full-scale invasion, because of this they are forced to return to the occupation," Boichenko said.
The mayor emphasized that the task for the state and local authorities is to create high-quality and affordable social housing, which will help keep people in Ukraine and become the basis for their return from abroad.
"Local authorities, together with the Government and international partners, must provide people with proper living and working conditions and restore justice for everyone who suffered from the war," he added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the russian invaders in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine continue to take measures aimed at changing the self-identification of the local population. In particular, they drive children to mandatory viewings of propaganda films.
Earlier, it became known that in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, residents of high-rise buildings on Olimpiiska Street were left without batteries.
