On Tuesday, November 12, President-elect Donald Trump officially announced the appointment of congressman from Florida and veteran of special operations forces, Mike Waltz, as his national security adviser. This is reported by CNN.
"I am honored to announce that Congressman Mike Waltz is hereby appointed to serve in my Cabinet as my National Security Advisor," Trump said.
Donald Trump added that Waltz is "the first Green Beret to have been elected to Congress." He previously worked in the White House and the Pentagon, and served in the U.S. Army Special Forces for 27 years, and saw multiple combat deployments, for which he was awarded four Bronze Stars, including two with Valor.
"Mike retired as a Colonel, and is a nationally recognized leader in National Security, a bestselling author, and an expert on the threats posed by China, Russia, Iran and global terrorism," Trump said.
"Mike has been a strong champion of my America First Foreign Policy agenda, and will be a tremendous champion of our pursuit of Peace through Strength!" said Donald Trump.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the ABC News channel, citing its own sources, reported that Elon Musk influences personnel decisions and the formation of the administration of President-elect Donald Trump.
