"US preparing elections in Ukraine to remove Zelenskyy". Ukraine refutes russian fake

The aggressor country continues the information war against Ukraine. Currently, the Foreign Intelligence Service of the russian federation has launched a fake that the US Department of State is allegedly preparing to hold elections in Ukraine in order to get rid of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

This was reported by the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security on Tuesday, November 12.

The Center refuted the information spread by the russian propaganda.

"Lie: the US Department of State is preparing to hold elections in Ukraine in order to get rid of Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was announced by the press service of the russian Foreign Intelligence Service. The truth: the information about the preparation of the elections is another fabrication of the russians. The Foreign Intelligence Service of the russian federation is actively participating in the information war against Ukraine. Therefore, it is impossible to consider this department as a source of true information," the message reads.

Since November 2023, the aggressor has been promoting the narrative of the West's supposed disappointment with Zelenskyy, and since 2024, such messages have become regular. Fakes about the preparation of the removal of the President of Ukraine also became a component of the "Maidan-3" operation, aimed at destabilizing Ukraine and changing the government. After the failures, russian propaganda is trying to discredit the Peace Formula and the Victory Plan, promoting the following message: "The West does not support either Zelenskyy or his unrealistic plans."

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in October, russian propaganda Telegram channels and pseudo-media spread a fake that the Holy Trinity Church of Kyiv in the Troieshchyna district was allegedly selling prayers on evasion of mobilization for UAH 10.

In October, the russian FSB spread a fake about the alleged detention of Ukrainian scouts, who allegedly tried to enter russia from the territory of Lithuania in order to kidnap a child.
