The russian occupiers may launch ground assaults in the south of the Zaporizhzhia Region within a few days.
This was stated by the spokesman of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, in a comment to Sky News.
According to Voloshyn, "the attacks can create a new point of pressure for the Ukrainian military, which is already lagging behind in the east. Although it is currently unclear whether it will be one large-scale offensive by the russians or separate assaults."
"The attacks could start in the near future, we are not even talking about weeks, we expect it to happen any day," the spokesman said.
He added that "the russian troops in this area greatly outnumber the Ukrainian defenders."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the russians damaged the dam of the Kurakhove reservoir, the water level in the river rose by 1.2 m.
In addition, in the Kursk Oblast (russia), the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back an almost 50,000-strong enemy group.
