In the Kursk Axis, the task of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is to deter the enemy and destroy the occupiers on their land.
This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi in the Telegram channel.
"The importance of this operational area cannot be underestimated in view of the number of enemy troops concentrated there. Our task in this Axis is to deter and destroy the enemy on its land," his Telegram reads.
According to him, if it were not for the resilience of the Ukrainian military, these tens of thousands of enemies from the best russian strike units would have stormed the Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove or Toretsk Axes, which would have significantly worsened the situation at the front.
Syrskyi noted that currently they (the russian military - ed.), following the order of their military leadership, are trying to dislodge the Ukrainian troops and advance deep into the territory controlled by the Ukrainian troops.
"My work was dedicated to providing assistance to commanders in the organization of combat operations, increasing the effectiveness of fire damage to the enemy and solving the issues of comprehensive provision and preparation of reserves," the Commander-in-Chief concluded.

The operation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast began on August 6, 2024. At the end of August, at the peak of the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ukrainian army controlled 100 settlements and almost 1,300 square kilometers of the territory of the region.
As a result of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast, it was possible to inflict serious losses on a number of units of the russian army, as well as capture at least 600 servicemen of the russian federation.
