Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha said this at a joint press conference with EU High Representative Josep Borrell in Kyiv.
"According to Ukrainian intelligence, based on the information available to us, next year, if there is no appropriate response or prevention, Russia will be able to produce 30% more artillery shells than all the countries of the European Union combined," the official stressed. .
According to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is now necessary to strategically think about it and strategically prevent it.
"First of all, I mean the so-called shadow fleet, which helps Russia continue to trade in energy and oil even now, bypassing the sanctions. Therefore, it is very important that the further strengthening of the sanctions policy of the European Union, our allies, also focuses on this aspect," said Sybiha.
The Minister also noted that it is necessary to increase pressure on the russian federation.
"We must work together on the new, 15th, package of sanctions and strengthen sanctions against countries that support Russia's war against Ukraine," Sybiha added.
In turn, Borrell expressed his vision for the work on the development of the 15th package of sanctions against russia:
"We have to tighten measures against circumvention of these sanctions because Russia cannot produce without foreign parts, foreign chips, and other components. So, we have to use the sanctions in order to isolate industrial capacity of Russia from the components they need to import from the rest of the world".
