During a conversation with one of the European leaders, Donald Trump discussed how he should approach negotiations with russian dictator vladimir putin. The U.S. president-elect understands that he cannot force Ukraine to make concessions just like that.
It was reported by the Bloomberg agency with reference to an unnamed high-ranking official.
According to the interlocutor of the agency, Trump has already started his first round of telephone negotiations with European leaders.
At least one of those calls discussed how Trump might approach negotiations with putin.
The official said that Trump made it clear that he understood that he could not simply force Ukraine to make concessions to putin without getting anything in return.
Another Bloomberg source reported that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron at the Summit of the European Political Community, which began in Budapest on November 7, that they, too, should talk to putin.
Orbán fears that otherwise the European Union will find itself on the sidelines of discussions about the future of Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian News agency reported, earlier today, November 8, Orbán said that the U.S. allegedly wants to "get out" of the russian-Ukrainian war after the election of Trump. He emphasized that Europe will not be able to finance Ukraine on its own.
We will remind you that on November 7, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with Trump, during which they agreed on a close dialogue and development of cooperation.
