In Ukraine, a new Kyiv-Bratislava railway route with a transfer in Chop will be launched already in mid-December. The state also agreed with Slovakia on infrastructure modernization and new projects for the recovery of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
On November 7, the sixth meeting of the Ukrainian-Slovak Mixed Commission was held, where Ukraine was represented by First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko, and Slovakia by Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction and European Funds Petr Kmetz.
The Slovak side announced the launch of the Kyiv-Bratislava railway connection with a transfer at the Chop station, which is planned to start already in mid-December this year. According to Petr Kmetz, this route will be the first stage of the expansion of passenger railway connections between the two countries. In the future, it is planned to create a direct railway line Uzhhorod-Chop-Košice-Bratislava, which can be extended to other European countries. This will not only increase passenger traffic, but also strengthen trade and economic ties between Ukraine, Slovakia and Europe.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukrzaliznytsia has changed some routes between Odesa and Kyiv, adding new transfers.
Ukrzaliznytsia has scheduled additional trains for the school holidays.
Ukrzaliznytsia also launched Wi-Fi in Intercity and Intercity+ trains.
