French President Emmanuel Macron had a telephone conversation with Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election. Politicians confirmed their desire to work together to restore peace and stability.
This was reported by the French publication Le Figaro with reference to a statement from the Elysée Palace.
The office of the French President said that the conversation between Macron and Trump lasted 25 minutes.
"Macron and Donald Trump on Wednesday expressed their desire to work towards the return of peace and stability in the face of major international crises unfolding," the report said.
Macron pointed to the importance of Europe's role and told Trump that he was ready to continue this conversation and work together on these issues, particularly on Ukraine and the Middle East.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 6, it became known that Donald Trump won the presidential race, becoming the 47th President of the United States.
We will remind you that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was one of the first world leaders to congratulate Trump on his election victory.
We also wrote that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was the first from the European Union to congratulate Trump.
