The presidential election has started in the USA, and the results are already known from the first polling station in the small settlement of Dixville Notch in the state of New Hampshire.
According to CNN, this settlement, located on the northern outskirts of New Hampshire near the border with Canada, in a tradition that has been going on since 1960, opened and closed its polling place just after midnight.
Four Republicans and two independent voters took part in the vote. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump received three votes each.
As is customary, all Dixville Notch voters gather at the closed Balsams Hotel to cast their secret ballots. Ballots are counted immediately after voting closes, and the results are announced hours earlier than in the rest of the country.
It will be recalled that the presidential election in the USA will be held on November 5, where the main candidates are the current vice president, 60-year-old Democrat Kamala Harris, and the ex-president of the USA, 78-year-old Republican Donald Trump.
