President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, there are already 11,000 North Korean troops in the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation. He emphasized that there is no "increased reaction" of partners.
He said this in an evening video message.
"Today there was also a separate report by the Defense Intelligence and the Foreign Intelligence Service regarding the North Korean military on the territory of russia - there are already 11,000 in the Kursk Oblast. We see an increase in North Koreans, but we do not see an increase in the reaction of our partners. Unfortunately," Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, the president separately noted that the active actions of Ukrainian forces as part of the operation in the Kursk Oblast have been going on for almost 3 months. He emphasized that it is important, in particular, because of the replenishment of the exchange fund, which has already helped the release of Ukrainians from russian captivity.
"We maintain this sanitary zone in designated areas near our state border," Zelenskyy added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, meanwhile, the mass media found out what and how much the DPRK receives from russia and, in particular, the monthly salary of the North Korean military in russia.
Meanwhile, the Center for Countering Disinformation reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine inflicted the first casualties on servicemen of the North Korean army sent to participate in the war on the side of the aggressor country of russia.
It will be recalled that the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, explained what will happen if the North Korean soldiers sent to russia are killed by Ukraine with weapons provided by the United States.
